Career Awareness and Professional Experience Project Meets Students

Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University Career Planning Application and Research Center participated in the event on career planning and professional development organized within the scope of the“Career Awareness and Professional Experience Project,” which is supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports under the UNIDES Program. The event was held on 14 October 2026 at the KMU Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Kemal Esengün Conference Hall with significant student participation.

The program, organized in collaboration with the Social Innovation Society, was moderated by Dr. Deniz Hoşbay Bayraktar, a faculty member of the Department of Business Administration at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of KMU. During the event, representatives from academia and the private sector shared their experiences and provided valuable insights into career development and professional life.

One of the speakers, Dr. Yuluğ Tigin Balcı, Deputy Director of the KMU Career Planning Application and Research Center, delivered a presentation entitled“Stepping into Your Career Path.” In the presentation, students were provided with comprehensive information on the importance of career planning, national and international opportunities available for career development, and digital career platforms. The presentation introduced the Career Gateway Platform (Kariyer Kapısı), the National Internship Program, the Career Planning Platform, the İŞKUR Youth Program, the KMU Alumni Information System, and various international scholarship opportunities. 

Another speaker, Zafer Çarhacıoğlu, Human Resources Manager at Turbel American Pan, shared professional experiences from the field of human resources and discussed employer expectations, key considerations in recruitment processes, and the importance of professional experience in career development.

Throughout the program, students had the opportunity to ask questions regarding career goal setting, the significance of internships and work experience, national and international scholarship opportunities, and career planning after graduation.

At the end of the event, students expressed their appreciation for the valuable knowledge and experiences shared by the speakers and thanked everyone involved in organizing the program. Representatives of the Career Planning Application and Research Center stated that similar activities aimed at enhancing students’ career awareness and supporting their professional development will continue in the coming period.
