Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University Hosts High School Students on Campus

Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University (KMU) welcomed high school students preparing for the university selection process to its campus. As part of an orientation visit organized by Yunuskent Mehmet Akif Ersoy Anatolian High School, 40 twelfth-grade students had the opportunity to gain a closer insight into university life and academic opportunities.

The visit took place on 15 October 2026 and was accompanied by the school counselor, Fatih Demir, and the supervising teacher, Sunay Köksal Baran.

During the program, students toured the KMU campus and received information about the university’s educational, research, and social opportunities. As part of the visit, students toured the Faculty of Engineering, the Vocational School of Health Services, the university library, and various social facilities. This enabled them to closely examine the physical infrastructure and learning environments of the departments in which they were interested.

During the tour, students were briefed by Prof. Dr. Selami Balcı, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Bülent Doğan, Secretary of the Vocational School of Health Services; and Dr. Yuluğ Tigin Balcı, Deputy Director of the Career Center.

Throughout the visit, students were provided with detailed information about the university’s academic programs, social and cultural activities, career opportunities, and campus life. They also had the opportunity to ask questions regarding higher education and the university admission process.

It was emphasized that the primary purpose of the visit was to familiarize students with the university environment and raise awareness about higher education opportunities. At the end of the program, students stated that the campus tour had made a significant contribution to their career planning and university choices.

KMU officials noted that the university will continue to host student groups from different schools as part of its outreach and promotional activities and will keep supporting young people in their career planning and higher education journeys.
