PRESENTATION OF THE DEPARTMENT HEAD

Dear Students,

The Department of Coaching Education at Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University’s Faculty of Sports Sciences continues its educational activities with the aim of training qualified personnel and coaches needed in the field of sports sciences, which is gaining increasing popularity worldwide. Our curriculum and educational programs are designed to meet these needs. Just as in other parts of the world, developments in the field of sports sciences in our country make specialization in sports a necessity.

In our department, the curriculum has been designed in line with the needs of the industry, offering theoretical courses such as training knowledge, sports physiology, sports biomechanics, sports nutrition, talent identification in sports, anatomy and kinesiology, skill learning in sports, sports psychology, and sports sociology. Additionally, practical courses in individual and team sports disciplines are provided, ensuring that the future coaches are well-equipped. Moreover, the courses in our curriculum are conducted with the assistance of technological tools, following contemporary educational approaches, to ensure a more efficient and effective process for our students.

Graduates of our department have the right to work as coaches in universities, local governments, amateur and professional sports clubs, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the General Directorate of Sports, its central and provincial organizations, and schools under the Ministry of National Education. Additionally, they can be involved in teaching, implementing, and organizing sports activities in private sports centers and the tourism industry.
