The department was established in 2019 within the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, which was established in 1992, and started to provide undergraduate education for the first time in the 2019-2020 Academic Year.

 

The effects of increasing global production and trade, coupled with economic, social, and political developments, have led to the internationalization of capital, labor, knowledge, goods, and services. These developments and changes have also led to an increased need for personnel to be assigned/employed at both the international and national levels. The Department of International Trade and Business was established to train graduates who understand and resolve international business processes and the complexities that arise during these processes, and who can apply the knowledge and skills acquired in various functional areas to international businesses.
 
The Department of International Trade and Business has two departments: the Department of International Trade and Business and the Department of International Trade Policy.
 
This department is subject to the 240 ECTS credit first-stage degree system in higher education in the field of International Trade and Business. Successful completion of the program and fulfillment of the program requirements leads to a Bachelor's degree in International Trade and Business.
 
Students in the Department of International Trade and Business graduate with in-depth knowledge and skills in a wide range of areas, including business administration, international trade, microeconomics, macroeconomics, accounting, e-business and trade, financial management and mathematics, foreign trade, business law, entrepreneurship and international finance, management organization, management information systems, customer relationship management, money and banking, digital marketing, global economy, occupational health and safety, logistics and supply chain management, human resources management, and conflict and crisis management.
 
The language of instruction in the department is Turkish. Students are also provided with the opportunity to study a foreign language in addition to English to further develop their skills in the field.
 
Graduates of the department have the same legal rights as graduates of other four-year undergraduate programs within the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. They can also find employment in a wide variety of fields, including:
 
• Various positions (human resources specialist, foreign trade specialist, customer consultant, marketing manager, purchasing specialist, sales representative, etc.) in domestic and/or international companies operating nationally and/or internationally;
• Public and private sector workplaces;
• The banking sector;
• Audit and inspection fields;
• Service sector workplaces such as finance, logistics, customs, and trade;
• Domestic and foreign companies engaged in import and export;
• National and international organizations and NGOs;
• Relevant academic units of universities.
