             DEPARTMENT OF HISTORY   

          Department of History is part of the Faculty of Letters of Karamanoglu Mehmetbey University. History remains one of the most consistently popular subjects among undergraduate and graduate students and our department offers an extensive range of classes covering from the Antiquity through the modern times and including studies of mainland Europe, Ancient Greece and Rome and Anatolian Civilizations, History of Islam and Turks, History of the Ottoman Empire and the modern Turkey, History of Russia and Turkic World and other areas of the developing world in addition to the methodologies of History and Social Sciences. There is a large and lively group of undergraduate and graduate students in our Department. Courses in undergraduate and graduate level are available to students and the degree offered is B.A. and M.A. by instruction.
