PROGRAMME IN ACCOUNTING AND TAX APPLICATIONS

The Programme in Accounting and Tax Applications has been continuing to flourish future accountants since 2010.

The accounting units of today's businesses aim to manage and interpret the sustainable financial activities of businesses in an efficient manner.

Accountants, who have a mission to fulfil today’s businesses’ accounting related needs, are expected to become qualified in their fields and think analytically. Therefore, in today's competitive environment, they should be equipped with carrying out computer-based transactions and specialize in accounting, financial reporting, foreign trade and taxation.

In this context, students of the Programme in Accounting and Tax Applications in the Social Sciences Vocational School have the opportunities to record transactions from real-life business cases by utilising accounting software and practice use of office tools and equipment, along with taking theoretical courses, such as Financial Accounting, Cost Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Business Management, Economics, Financial Statement Analysis, Turkish Tax System, and so on.

The programme strives to meet the demand of the sector for highly qualified professionals by providing students willing to pursue a career in the accounting profession with theoretical knowledge and practical applications in the fields of consultancy, auditing, accounting and financial reporting and enabling them to quickly build up a career in the national and international sector.

Those who graduate from the Programme in Accounting and Tax Applications can obtain the title of an ‘‘Accounting Professional” with an Associate Degree.

Graduates can be employed;

 * in accounting, finance and auditing departments of corporates,

 * as assistant staff in the offices of financial advisers and certified financial advisers,

 * in public and private sector banks,

 * as accounting staff in companies operating in the fields of foreign trade, insurance, tourism and construction.

Most students usually receive offers to work in businesses, where they carry out their compulsory internships, and they opt to constantly settle there.

Students who have completed the Programme in Accounting and Tax Application can be awarded with an "Associate Degree" and can proceed to equivalent undergraduate programmes based on their success in External Transfer Exam (DGS) held by the Evaluation, Selection and Placement Centre (OSYM).
