Recreation Management program is carried out in KARAMAN / ERMENEK district, affiliated with the School of Applied Sciences established within the body of Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University. It is aimed to train qualified workforce with knowledge of recreation, tourism, sports and business.
 
Recreation; Contributing to the physical, mental, cultural and social development of people of all ages, with entertainment, sports, arts, hobbies, mental, cultural, social and natural activities; It has a high importance due to its contribution to regional and national economies, tourism and sports activities, the promotion of our country at national and international levels and the national income. In short, recreation is leisure / leisure activity. It enables individuals to evaluate their free time in a healthy, fit, effective and efficient way.
 
 
As the Recreation Management Department, we will take our first students in the 2018-2019 academic year. Our department is within the School of Applied Sciences. It is located in faculties of sports sciences, physical education and sports colleges and tourism faculties with similar names. The purpose of our department; To train qualified middle-level and senior management candidates who are equipped with theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of tourism and sports, who are equipped with theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of recreation management at a level that will contribute to social, economic, sportive, recreative and technical development. For this purpose, students will be equipped with knowledge and skills related to a foreign language, information technologies, tourism and sports industry and tourism and sports enterprises, modern management, recreation management, management and leadership, sports and recreational activities.
 
 
Education and training period in Recreation Management Department is 4 years. The first year of the education and training period is included in the curriculum so that it has common courses with other departments, as well as courses related to the field. In the 2nd, 3rd and 4th years, field and specialty courses are conducted theoretically and practically. 40 students will be admitted to our department. In addition, our graduate education program continues to open.
 
Recreation Management Undergraduate program; It is aimed at training middle and upper level managers, academicians and researchers who will ensure the planning, development and sustainability of sports and recreational practices required by the public and other sectors, especially the tourism and sports sector.
 
Moving from this point, our goals are;
 
 To train equipped individuals who can be employed in sports, health and recreation organizations of both public and private sectors,
 To contribute to meeting the qualified human resources needs of recreation management in the field of tourism.
 To train leaders with sufficient knowledge and skills in the fields of recreation, leisure time management, contemporary approaches and concepts,
 To carry out valid and original academic studies in order to provide graduates with qualified leadership and entrepreneurship skills in the field of recreation management.
 To provide recreation and free time planning skills with innovative approaches and to gain future recreation leaders,
 Creating, collecting and publishing up-to-date information on recreation management.
 To solve the problems about recreation management and to lead its development, to form public opinion and to raise awareness of the society.
 To ensure that the innovations and developments in the world are monitored within the scope of recreative activities and to conduct scientific studies in this field,
 
 
Our graduates; They have employment opportunities in the middle and senior management positions, which are among the tourism and sports enterprises and can carry out recreation activities.
 
Universities, Private education centers, Sports facilities, Local administrations (municipalities), within the General Directorate of Youth and Sports (Youth camps); In the field of tourism; They can be employed in sports tourism, Social and Recreation facilities, Holiday villages, Children's recreation activities, Sports and recreation activities, Socio-cultural recreation activities, Animation enterprises and Tourism enterprises. In addition, the graduates of the department who get enough points from the Public Personnel Selection Examination (KPSS) will be able to be employed in public institutions. Graduates who want to pursue an academic career will be able to work as a lecturer in a program related to the fields of any university if they meet the necessary conditions (such as ALES, YDS, TOEFL) and get the necessary points from the central exams.
