HISTORY

 

Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University Kamil Özdağ Faculty of Science Department of Physics started its activities on 19.11.2008 by completing all the establishment procedures. Our Physics department, which met with its first students in the 2011-2012 academic year, started its active education and training activities. Our department could not take students in the following 2012-2013 academic year and the existing students were placed in neighbouring universities according to the ÖSYM score. In the ongoing process, it has been removed from the preference list of ÖSYM by suffering the fate of basic sciences in Turkey in recent years.

 

Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University Kamil Özdağ Faculty of Science Department of Physics aims to teach the basic and new theorems of physics to our students by using technological facilities with all its staff and infrastructure facilities. With the curriculum applied in the department, it aims to train qualified physicists who can produce solutions by applying the laws and theorems of physics to current problems, have intellectual knowledge in their field and have high-level communication skills. As a basic science, Physics interacts with other basic sciences such as Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and many application areas such as Engineering sciences.
