Food Engineering Department was established in 2010 as a part of Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University Faculty of Engineering.
It started its activities with 30 students in the 2011-2012 academic year.
As of the spring semester of the 2021-2022 academic year, 2 Professors, 2 Associate Professors, 6 Assistant Professors and 4 Research Assistants are working in our department.
Educational activities are carried out in 1 large lecture hall (180 people), 3 small lecture halls (72 people), 3 regular classrooms (90 people) and 1 smart board classroom (70 people), which are shared with other departments of the Faculty of Engineering.
Laboratory applications of our department are carried out in 8 R&D (50 m2), 1 Microbiology Laboratory (30 m2) and 1 Student Application Laboratory (105 m2). In addition, there are 1 graduate student study room (for 10 people), 1 Food Technology Application Workshop (70 m2), 3 dry warehouses and 1 cold storage (10 m2) shared with other departments of the faculty in the laboratory block.
In addition, Faculty Meeting Hall for meetings and Faculty Conference Hall for seminars, workshops and various organizations are shared with other departments of the Faculty.
