INTRODUCTION

Our faculty was established by decision of Council of Ministers dated 17.12.2012 and numbered 2012-4091 according to the Article-30 of Higher Education Institutions Organization Law No. 2809 dated 1983 and officially started to be organized on July 2013.Our faculty building is located at behind the Campus Mosque and Library. Starting from the 2015-2016 academic year, our faculty has been applying for a four-year undergraduate program in addition to the Arabic preparatory class. Students who are successful in the Compulsory Arabic Preparation Class exemption exam have the opportunity to start directly from the first grade. In our faculty, the undergraduate program determined by the Council of Higher Education for the Faculty of Theology is applied exactly.

 

The main objectives of our undergraduate program

To be able to read and understand the basic sources of Islamic religion, classical and modern period works of the area.

To interpret and question the acquired knowledge in accordance with the generally accepted methods developed by our civilization and in suitability with the basic resources,

To be able to distinguish beliefs, attitudes and behaviours based on superstitions with the right knowledge acquired from the basic sources of religion,

To be able to complete an academic research in accordance with accepted methods,

To gain professional practice skills,

To combine information and achievements with effective written and oral communication skills against different interlocutors,

To be sensitive about local and global problems and to develop solutions for them.

 

Main employment areas of our faculty graduates

They may be mufti, mufti assistant, preacher, Quran course instructor, imam, muezzin in the central, provincial and international organizations of the Presidency of Religious Affairs.

They can teach vocational lessons in the Imam-Hatip High Schools and they can teach the Religion Culture and Moral Knowledge lessons at the primary and secondary schools within the Ministry of National Education.

They can be employed in some areas in The Ministry of Family and Social Policy, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Justice.

For those who continue to pursue a graduate education, they also have the opportunity to become teaching staff in higher education institutions, especially on Islamic Studies and Theology.
