Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University (KMU) expanded its network of international collaborations during its visit to Uzbekistan’s capital, Tashkent, held within the framework of the 8th General Assembly of the Union of Turkish Universities (TÜRKÜNİB). During the visit, KMU signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Uzbekistan State World Languages University, University of Management and Future Technologies, University of Science and Technologies, and Yunus Rajabiy Uzbek National Music Arts Institute.
The MoUs aim to promote cooperation in areas such as student and staff exchange, joint research and publications, as well as academic and cultural programs.

As part of the visit, the KMU delegation also paid a courtesy visit to Alfraganus University, an existing institutional partner, to review ongoing collaborations, explore new avenues of cooperation, and reaffirm mutual goodwill.

The KMU delegation was composed of Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet GAVGALI, KMU Internationalization and Orhun Coordinator Dr. Umut ÇİL, and Dr. Gulina YUSUPOVA from the Office of International Relations.

Through its strategic partnerships with higher education institutions across the Turkic world and Central Asia, KMU continues to strengthen academic mobility, enhance research capacity, and foster intercultural engagement. The meetings and MoUs realized in Tashkent mark a further step in reinforcing the university’s international presence and contribution to regional academic cooperation.
