KORSEM’24

The 16th International Corrosion Symposium, KORSEM'24, bearing the European Federation of Corrosion (EFC) number 504, is set to be held in collaboration with the Turkish Corrosion Association and under the auspices of Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University, between May 23rd and May 25th, 2024. This event marks the 16th installment in the biennial symposium series, which is jointly organized by a Turkish university and the Turkish Corrosion Association. KORSEM'24's primary objective is to establish a platform for the exchange and thorough discussion of the latest theoretical, experimental, and commercial advancements in the field of corrosion and corrosion control. The overarching theme of KORSEM'24 is "Corrosion Protection for a Sustainable Future".

It is anticipated that the sessions dedicated to general corrosion and corrosion within energy systems will promote a more comprehensive understanding of both corrosion-related challenges and the novel techniques and engineering solutions devised to mitigate corrosion. The organizing committee is dedicated to making every conceivable effort to attract globally renowned academics, research and development scientists, practical engineers, and technicians, as well as policymakers actively involved in various facets of corrosion-related matters to participate in the symposium.

In addition to the oral and poster presentations, there is also a planned exhibition to convene a diverse group of device manufacturers and users focused on the recognition, measurement, monitoring, and prevention of corrosion. Participants in the exhibition are strongly encouraged to prepare oral and/or poster presentations to showcase their products.

Abstracts and comprehensive documentation will be published on the symposium's website. Furthermore, the Scientific Advisory Board intends to select specific articles for publication in journals that are indexed both nationally and internationally.

The conference will be conducted in a face-to-face format, but international attendees will have the option to participate remotely. Participation in the conference is free of charge.

We would like to remind you that selected papers submitted to KORSEM'24 can be published in the Journal of Materials and Manufacturing and Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University Journal of Engineering and Natural Sciences after completing a formal reviewer process by the journal.
