In Turkey, as in the rest of the world, there is a need for artists who are able to look at the environment and the world from a broader perspective. Under the influence of technological developments, art is now more integrated into social life than ever before and has become a fundamental discipline that must work together with other disciplines in order to increase the quality and efficiency of social life. For the continuity and development of the role of this fundamental discipline in the functioning social wheel, it is an important necessity that people who do not have the opportunity to be educated during the day receive art education with night classes, so the opening of this program is appropriate. Since the Department of Painting is an application-oriented program, there are application courses in which skills are emphasized.
The basic learning outcomes of the Department of Painting are stated below for the welfare and happiness of humanity and our country, based on human and social values, understanding of continuous development and universal qualities of science;
1- Acquire the ability to understand the basic concepts and theories of the art of painting.
2- Acquiring the ability to utilize various disciplines in the process of creating artistic products.
3- Acquiring the ability to observe, design, research and gain experience to meet the requirements in the process of creating a product / work.
4- The ability to recognize, define and analyze problems in the creation process of artistic products.
5- Acquire the ability to think, discuss and write critically about art by learning art concepts, esthetic theories and techniques of art criticism.
6- Be able to understand and analyze the impact of art in social and universal dimensions.
7- Be able to evaluate the information obtained in the learning process with cause-effect relationships; be able to predict where, when and why information is needed.
8- Gain the ability to produce artistic forms in a contemporary language by establishing a relationship between social events and cultural phenomena.
9- Have and apply the theoretical and technical tools and creative sensibility required of qualified artists recognized in national and international artistic circles
10- Combine artistic and cultural policies in practice with theoretical knowledge, anticipate the impact of these policies on artistic and cultural variables and acquire the ability to develop solutions to artistic issues.
11- Acquire the ability to participate in collective work within the framework of contemporary art activities and develop proposals.
12- Acquire the ability to communicate effectively and express oneself in the field of art.
13- Acquire the ability to concretize sensory perception.
Graduates of the Painting Department of the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture can continue their painting studies in their own workshops and participate in various artistic events, work in different areas of design and work as art consultants in museums and galleries. Our graduates can also specialize in the field of art history. Painting graduates can be appointed as teachers by the Ministry of National Education, provided that they complete the pedagogical training program and achieve the required score in the exams valid under the current conditions. Our graduates can work as art teachers in private workshops or pursue an academic career by pursuing postgraduate education. In addition, the economic growth of the art market in Turkey and in the world naturally offers wide opportunities to graduates of the Painting Department through galleries.
