Dr. Nuray Turan, a faculty member of the International Trade and Logistics Department, participated in the 8th International Gender Research Conference held in Porto, Portugal on April 10–11, 2025, with the support of TÜBİTAK 2224-A. At the conference, Dr. Turan presented her paper titled “Female Academics' Perception of Gender Roles in Working Life: A Qualitative Research Example in Türkiye”, sharing the experiences of female academics in Turkey on an international platform.
During the event at the Polytechnic Institute of Porto, Dr. Turan detailed the challenges faced by women in academia, the status of equal opportunities, and perceptions of gender roles among female academics in Turkey. Her presentation received great interest and attention from the participants.
This significant work not only strengthened the international academic visibility of our faculty and department but also ensured that research from Turkey gained global recognition. Dr. Turan’s contribution enhanced academic representation and significantly increased the visibility of female academics’ experiences in the workforce.
