GENERAL INFORMATION

 

Social work, a discipline and profession, examines many complex mobility between people and their environment. The purpose of social work is to enable every person to fully develop his potential, enrich his life and prevent dysfunction. The social work profession is focused on problem solving and change. Accordingly, social workers are representatives of change in the lives of the society and the individuals, families and communities they serve. Social work is a system of interrelated values, theory and practice.

 

The curriculum includes theoretical and practical courses. Theoretical lessons are given through contemporary methods such as conferences, group discussions, role play, case studies. In applied courses, students are enabled to gain professional skills and behavior by transferring the theoretical knowledge they have learned.

 

Targets

 

To train qualified Social Work assistants within the framework of the qualifications specified in the Objectives section.

 

PROGRAM INFORMATION

 

History of the Program

The Social Work Program under the Social Service and Counseling Department started education in 2017-2018 as formal education. The student quota of the program is 52.

Admission Requirements

Being placed as a result of ÖSYM exam.

 

Transition to the Upper Level

Graduates who successfully complete the Social Services Associate Degree program will be able to continue their education opportunities by transferring to the Social Studies and Sociology vertical transfer programs with the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) held by ÖSYM. Graduates will also be able to make vertical transfer without exam to Anadolu University Faculty of Business and Economics, which provides distance education if they wish.

 

Graduation Conditions

In order to obtain a associate degree in the Social Work Program Field, students must successfully complete all of the compulsory and elective courses (total 120 ECTS equivalent) required in the program and the GPA must be at least 1.75 out of 4.00. In addition, he must have completed his 30-day internship.
