NUTRITION AND DIETETICS DEPARTMENT
One of the basic elements of maintaining health and maintaining a healthy and quality life is adequate and balanced nutrition. The development of technological possibilities and the use of new food sources are leading to a gradual change in nutrition awareness in communities. According to changing and developing conditions; Department of Nutrition and Dietetics is the only authorized profession which deals to examine the effects of nutrition on health, regulation of nutrition programs according to the needs of individuals, preparation of dietary programs for prevention and treatment of diseases, examination of the processes from buying nutrients to consumption for catering systems, determination and evaluation of health problems related to nutrition in the society, and the research and development work carried out for the purpose of developing. For this reason, there is a great deal of work to be done by experts who will devote themselves to working in these fields. Nutritionist; who is trained in nutrition and dietetics, evaluates the nutrition habits of individuals and societies, determines the appropriate nutritional therapy for them, applies them, produces nutrition plans and policies and educates them. Graduates of this department, besides being academicians, can serve as researchers, educators and therapists in children's and elderly nursing homes, maternal and child health, community health, special diet policlinics. Also graduates; can work as a manager, researcher and educator in private or public institutions related to nutrition.
