Mission

In order to increase health and well-being, it is to train ergo therapists who can rehabilitate with meaningful and objective activities to improve social participation skills and who are good at teamwork, creative, innovative, support ethical values and, who can make arrangements and environmental regulations for maximum independence in all age groups.

 

Vision

To increase the life quality of the society by providing motor, sensory, cognitive, psychological and psychosocial skills development with ergo therapy activities; to make the scientific development and services of the field of ergo therapy to the most perfect level and to become an international model educational institution in order to enable individuals to become more independent in society by reducing the obstacles in the physical, cultural, institutional and social environment.

Ergo therapy

Ergo therapy is a person-centred health profession that improves health and well-being through meaningful and purposeful activities. The main purpose of ergo therapy is to ensure that people participate in daily life activities. Graduates of Ergo therapy Department receive the title "Ergo therapist".

 

Ergo therapists work with individuals, who are forced to re-learn some basic tasks and tasks due to their illness or disability. They help their industrial adaptations by learning the daily life activities of the disabled, by the adaptation to the environment, by supporting the process of returning to work and learning new professions.

 

Ergo therapists work with all persons, who are excluded from society because of a social or cultural minority group or have a disability in body structure or function due to any health problem. Ergo therapy has a wide range of practice areas including public institutions such as home, school, workplace, factory, health centre, nursing home, rehabilitation centre, hospital and judicial institution and private or voluntary organizations.

Purpose of the Ergo therapy Undergraduate Program

The purpose of the Ergo therapy undergraduate program is to train ergo therapists, who can synthesize theoretical and practical knowledge they have achieved, plan and implement person-centred ergo therapy evaluations and interventions, increase the independence and quality of life and enable their social participation.

 

Working Areas of Ergo therapy Graduates

Ergo therapists can work in hospitals, clinics, special education and rehabilitation centres, schools, home care programs, community health centres, nursing homes, day care homes and many other areas to serve all age groups.
