BANKING AND INSURANCE DEPARTMENT
The School of Applied Sciences was established with the publication of the 2017/10830 Decree of the Council of Ministers dated 11/09/2017 in the Official Gazette. It was deemed appropriate to accept students to the Banking and Insurance Department within the scope of the college with the proposal of the university senate and the decision of the General Assembly of Higher Education on 17 May 2018. The department has 30 regular student quotas.
About the Program:The aim of the Banking and Insurance program is to train specialists with the qualifications and knowledge required by the sector by providing students with the necessary training in theory and practice. Click for the lesson plan of the Banking and Insurance Department.
Qualification Awarded: Students who successfully complete the Banking and Insurance Department are entitled to receive an Undergraduate degree.
Admission Requirements: Students who wish to enroll in the Banking and Insurance Department must complete the processes determined by Student Selection And Placement Center within the scope of the university legislation and have obtained sufficient points from theHigher Education Institutions Exam. Students are admitted to the department with Higher Education Institutions Exam Equal Weight score. In addition, students studying in the equivalent department of another university can apply for transfer to the department and can become a department student by winning the DGS exam from two-year programs.
Transition to the Upper Level: Students who graduate from the department may have the opportunity to continue their postgraduate education provided that Academic Staff and Graduate Education Entrance Exam provides the necessary qualifications considering the Foreign Language and graduation averages.
Graduation Requirements: In order for students to graduate from the Department of Banking and Insurance, 240 ECTS credit courses stipulated in the curriculum must complete their on-the-job training and graduation project and their GPA must be at least 2.00 out of 4.00.
Measurement and Evaluation Principles: A passing grade is calculated by taking the 40% of the midterm exams and 60% of the final exams on the 100 grade, by applying the relative system.
Employment Opportunities: The share of banks and insurance companies, which are among the important elements of financial markets, is increasing day by day, and an increase is observed proportionally every year in the number of personnel employed in these institutions. Graduates of the Banking and Insurance department; banks, insurance companies and the Capital Markets Board can apply for exams and also find employment opportunities in financial institutions and financial departments of businesses. Graduates of the department may also choose to continue their postgraduate education and have an academic career.
