According to the University’s Education, Training, and Examination Regulations, every student is required to gain practical work experience and develop applied skills in order to graduate. The internship process is conducted by a Department Internship Commission consisting of at least three faculty members. The total duration of the internship may not be less than 30 working days and not more than 60 working days; one full working day is calculated as 8 hours. The workweek is considered to consist of five working days; however, in workplaces where Saturday is legally recognized as a working day, Saturday may be counted as the 6th working day for internship purposes.

The Commission regulates internship site suitability, internship periods, and evaluation processes (through the Internship Logbook and Internship Evaluation Form) in accordance with the rules required by the Software Development Department. Students are responsible for finding their own internship placements and must comply with the regulations of the host institution as well as the provisions of the Higher Education Institutions Student Disciplinary Regulations during the internship period.

The University provides occupational accident and occupational disease insurance for intern students in accordance with Law No. 5510. Internship evaluation results are recorded as “Satisfactory” (S) or “Unsatisfactory” (U), and students who do not successfully complete their internship cannot graduate.

The internship directive to be prepared within the Faculty enters into force on the date it is approved by the Senate and is implemented under the authority of the Dean of Kamil Özdağ Faculty of Science.
