SOLAR ENERGY TEST AND MEASUREMENT LABORATORY

R & D Laboratory for Solar Energy Testing and Measurement

Solar Radiation Modeling

Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University R & D studies are carried out on the subject of Solar Radiation, Forecasting and Modeling within the Academic Energy Research Unit. In addition to the conventional Solar Radiation Estimation models in the literature, many academic publications on the Estimation of Solar Radiation have been created by using satellite data that have attracted much attention recently.

In particular, some satellite data and the Heliosat Method using Global and Common Solar Radiation estimates are realized.

Photovoltaic Panel Outdoor Test System

There are three different types of photovoltaic (PV) panel system in Karamanoglu Mehmetbey University campus.

The performance of the photovoltaic panels is determined by both the solar tracking system and the fixed test system.

This system was brought to our university with the support of Mevlana Development Agency (MEVKA).

Photovoltaic Module Test and Measurement System

A prototype system has been established for the testing and measurement of photovoltaic modules on the roof of the Faculty of Engineering at Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University.

With this prototype system, performance tests and measurements are performed on different types of PV modules.

In addition, meteorological data such as direct solar radiation, wind velocity, air temperature, humidity are measured regularly with the Arduino control system, which generates module temperature and power outputs.

These measurements are recorded in a database and are used for long-term measurements, performance improvement and efficiency R & D of PV systems.

This system has been established by using Tübitak 2209-B project and the resources of our university.

PV System Analysis System

FV system performance analyzes are performed by taking into account the measurement data and meteorological parameters of the installed photovoltaic systems.

Different types of PV inter-system performance differences, climate change-dependent PV performance, PV system performance modeling and optimization are being investigated.

R & D studies are carried out by using various computer programming languages for data collection and analysis.

FV Module Thermal Testing and Analysis

Experiments are carried out using different PV modules with the solar simulator (1000 W / m 2 ) in our university .

In addition, thermal analysis of PV modules can be made.
