Academics from Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University (KMU) continue to contribute significantly to the University’s international scientific visibility by participating in prestigious research networks carried out within the framework of the COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) Programme, which is supported by the European Union. In this context, two KMU academics have been appointed as Working Group members in different COST Actions.

Contribution to an International Research Network in Mathematics and Bioinformatics

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elif Segah Öztaş, a faculty member of the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Kamil Özdağ Science, Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University, has been accepted to the Action CA21169, entitled “Information, Coding, and Biological Function: The Dynamics of Life (DYNALIFE)”, conducted within the scope of the COST Programme.

According to the official notification issued by the COST Management Committee, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Öztaş’s Working Group application has been approved, and she has been appointed as a Working Group (WG) member within the aforementioned Action.

Within this framework, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Öztaş will contribute to research activities conducted under the theme “Theoretical modelling of information flow and regulation in biological coding systems.” The DYNALIFE COST Action, which integrates bioinformatics and mathematically driven approaches, aims to develop innovative methodologies for a deeper understanding of the dynamics of biological systems.
