2026-2027 ACADEMIC YEAR COMPULSORY FOREIGN LANGUAGE (ENGLISH) I & II EXEMPTION EXAM ANNOUNCEMENT
Newly enrolled students for the 2026-2027 Academic Year who are required to take Compulsory Foreign Language (English) I and II courses and wish to be exempt must participate in the Exemption Exam scheduled for September 24, 2026.
*Participation is optional. Students who do not take the exam or fail to pass are required to take these courses in the relevant semesters of their curriculum.

Application Eligibility
- Only newly registered students (Student ID starting with "26") are eligible to apply.
- Taking the exam is completely voluntary.
Passing Criteria & Grading
- The minimum passing score for each course is 60 out of 100.
- Exempted courses are not included in the GPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) calculation.
Other Exemption Options
- Secondary Education Abroad: Those who certify that they completed secondary education in an institution attended by citizens of a country where the language of instruction is spoken as the native language (for at least the last 3 years) must submit a petition to their academic department during course registration week.
- Standardized Exam Scores: Students with a score of 60 or above from ÖSYM language exams (YDS, e-YDS, YÖKDİL, etc.) or internationally recognized equivalent exams (such as TOEFL) must submit a petition to their department during registration week.
- Previous Higher Education Credits: Students who have successfully completed these courses at another university may submit an exemption request via the Student Information System (ÖBS) by following the guidelines outlined in the official registration announcement.
