DOUBLE MAJOR PROGRAM

The purpose of the Double Major program is to enable students enrolled in undergraduate programs at the faculties who are successfully completing their major’s undergraduate program to pursue a second major concurrently and earn a bachelor’s degree in that field.

Procedures related to Dual Major and Minor programs offered within our university are conducted in accordance with the provisions of the “Regulations on the Principles for Transfer Between Associate and Bachelor’s Degree Programs, Dual Major, Minor, and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer in Higher Education Institutions.”

To be eligible to apply for the Double Major program:

Applications must be submitted no earlier than the beginning of the third semester and no later than the beginning of the fifth semester of the primary undergraduate program.

For programs requiring a specific grade point average (GPA), students wishing to pursue a double major must, in addition to meeting the other conditions specified in the Regulations, have met the GPA requirement set by the Higher Education Council for the program in the year of enrollment (effective from the spring semester of the 2019-2020 academic year), have no missing or failed courses required by the curriculum in their major program up to the semester of application, and have a GPA of at least 3.00 out of 4.00 in their major program. Additionally, the student must be ranked within the top 20% of their class in the major program in which they are currently enrolled.

Students who have enrolled at our university through vertical transfer or inter-institutional and intra-institutional horizontal transfer may apply to dual major programs provided they have completed at least one semester of study in their primary program.
No semester requirement is applied when dual major students select courses. Students may take courses in the fall semester during the 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 7th semesters, and in the spring semester during the 2nd, 4th, 6th, and 8th semesters.
