Significant Achievement by Our Undergraduate Student Ahmet Sevmen in Article Competition

Hacettepe University Department of Mathematics organized an essay and article competition themed “Mathematics and Hope” for undergraduate mathematics students across different universities in our country. A total of 28 students from 8 different universities participated with 21 papers. Despite limited announcements via social media, this keen interest and high level of participation once again demonstrated how vibrant, productive, and inspiring mathematics resonates among students.

A Meeting to Reward and Celebrate Academic Success

Our undergraduate mathematics student Ahmet Sevmen, whose paper titled "The Right Side of the Equation: Mathematics of Hope" earned publication rights, was congratulated for his valuable contribution to popular mathematics. To encourage our students to take part in such academic and popular scientific endeavors, the Dean of Kâmil Özdağ Faculty of Science, Prof. Dr. Sedat Pak, hosted our student in his office.

During the visit, attended by Vice Dean Asst. Prof. Dr. Merve Görgülü, Head of Mathematics Department Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nimet Coşkun, and Vice Head of Mathematics Department Asst. Prof. Dr. Murat Arı, a symbolic award was presented to our student. The gathering also featured an engaging conversation on popular science and mathematics education. Highlighting the importance of institutional mechanisms that recognize and support student achievements, our Dean once again extended his congratulations and best wishes for our student's future studies.
