Visit of Our Honorable Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Gavgalı to the Department of Mathematics Following the Academic Board Meeting

During the meeting, research projects, numbers of TÜBİTAK/EU projects, faculty performance metrics, targets, and realization rates were shared. Following the presentation by our Dean, our Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Gavgalı delivered an address highlighting the importance of artificial intelligence, evolving and advancing information technologies, and prospective projects. Listening attentively to the suggestions and requests of the faculty members, our Rector engaged in productive consultations focused on solution-oriented enhancements.

Laboratories and Educational Infrastructure Inspected

Following the meeting and a commemorative group photo in front of the faculty building, our Rector, accompanied by Dean Prof. Dr. Sedat Pak and faculty executives, inspected on-site the newly modernized computer laboratories and the water purification system.

We extend our deepest gratitude to our Rector and Dean for their significant contributions to the comprehensive hardware and infrastructure upgrade of both laboratories. With these upgraded facilities, which will train future software developers, data scientists, and mathematicians, our faculty has acquired a robust infrastructure.

Our Rector also took time to interact closely with students studying in the laboratory, listening to their feedback and thoughts regarding their departments and our faculty. Although theoretical studies constitute a major part of the curriculum, the Department of Mathematics actively utilizes these laboratory facilities in numerous courses such as Computer Technologies, Coding Theory, and Document Preparation with LaTeX. Consequently, the renovated laboratories will provide substantial support to mathematics education.

Administrative Staff and Departmental Visits

Paying a cordial visit to our faculty's administrative staff, our Rector proceeded to the office of Dean Prof. Dr. Sedat Pak for further consultations. Thereafter, our Rector honored the Department of Mathematics with a visit, conducting a brief evaluation of departmental activities with the Head of the Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nimet Coşkun.
