PROGRAMME IN BANKING AND INSURANCE
Financial markets function as engines of modern economies. That is why qualifications of professionals employed in financial markets have commenced to become increasingly of significance. In this regard, the Banking and Insurance Programme strives to develop professionals with the knowledge and skills required by financial markets.
It is the aim of our Programme that within the framework of human resource demands of the financial sector, we endeavour to flourish professionals to have high self-confidence and communication skills, consciousness of social responsibility and business ethics, embody high rigour, be equipped with adequate theoretical and practical knowledge on banking and insurance, be able to efficiently utilise the knowledge obtained, and be confident with related legislations and law.
The Programme in Banking and Insurance commenced to admit students during the Fall Term of 2009-2010. In this regard, every year the Programme admits 50 students for each normal and evening education.
In order to graduate from the Programme, students are required to take all compulsory modules in the curriculum of the Programme and pass both compulsory and optional modules to obtain 120 ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) credits in total, have a minimum GPA of 2.00 out of 4.00 and undertake a 30-business day compulsory summer internship scheme.
After satisfying graduation requirements, students will be awarded with an “Associate Degree in Banking and Insurance”.
After becoming successful in External Transfer Exam (DGS), graduates can proceed from associate degree to undergraduate degree programmes. Determined by the Evaluation, Selection and Placement Centre (OSYM), these programmes are;

* International Business.
Graduates of the Banking and Insurance Programme have the opportunity to be employed in banks and insurance companies of the public and private sectors in particular, those significant financial institutions of capital market intermediary institutions, international auditing firms, government finance institutions, reinsurance companies and insurance agents or start their own businesses.
