PROGRAMME IN SOCIAL SECURITY
Social Security is defined as a group of practices that fulfil the task of providing income and health insurance to individuals, regardless of their income, when facing certain social risks (occupational accidents and diseases, other health problems, maternity, disability retirement, old age, death, unemployment). The aim of the Programme in Social Security is to provide qualified professionals being able to perform computer-aided social security transactions both in public institutions and private enterprises, have efficient communication skills, carry out mathematical calculations and logical thinking successfully, have retentive memory, focus on various details simultaneously, closely follow up current legislation, understand their legal responsibilities, and have a necessary level of managerial knowledge and skills.
Graduates can be employed in;
* Social Security Institution and its provincial and district level units,
* Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR) and its provincial and district level units,
* Other Public Institutions,
* Private companies,
* Accounting and Financial Advisory Offices,
* Banks.
Those who are awarded with an Associate Degree in Social Security are entitled to take External Transition Exam (DGS) held by the Evaluation, Selection and Placement Centre (OSYM). According to their scores they obtain from DGS, they can proceed to the undergraduate degree in Social Services and can be appointed as a Social Service Specialist.
