The Department of Data Science and Analytics Attracted Great Interest at the Spring Festival

As the Department of Data Science and Analytics, our stand at the university's spring festival was visited with great interest throughout the day by many of our academicians and students, especially our Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Gavgalı and the Dean of the Faculty of Science Prof. Dr. Sedat Pak.

Colorful moments were witnessed at the event where we brought science, technology, and entertainment together. In particular, the award-winning guessing questions, where participants competed their analytical thinking skills, created great excitement at our stand. Our visitors who successfully answered the challenging questions correctly were rewarded with small gifts we prepared.

AI Application Generating Fun Internet Memes from Facial Expressions Created Entertaining Moments

The most attention-grabbing event of our stand, which received full marks from the visitors, was the AI-supported facial and expression recognition application developed directly by our students. The system, which analyzes the instant mimics of our visitors in front of the camera and simultaneously generates fun internet visual (meme) contents most appropriate for this emotional state, set the stage for moments full of laughter in the festival area.

We would like to sincerely thank all our department students who took part in this organization, where our students had the opportunity to put the education they received into practice and exhibit their innovative ideas in a fun way, and all the participants who visited our stand and shared our excitement.
