2. METHODOLOGICAL FRAMEWORK FOR INTELLECTUAL OUTPUT ICT APPLICATIONS

Based on our research and investigations, there was a certain lack of methodological framework for ICT implementation in care homes, where most of the care homes and professionals in this area were uninformed and not knowledgeable in satisfactory levels. Because, ICT tools change constantly and updated regularly, therefore, it is not easy for educators to follow its fast pace. Because of this, in this output, we worked on creating  a methodological framework for ICT implementation in care homes. For each ICT subject including technology enabled care (TEC) services (the use of telehealth, telecare, telemedicine, telecoaching), electronic health (transfer of health resources and care by electronic means) digital health (convergence of digital revolutions in care), we created a methodological framework for implementation in this output. Since there is a certain lack of methodological framework for ICT implementation in care homes regarding above subjects, this output includes many elements of innovation about above listed subjects. So, our format was around 70 pages of intensive and detailed explanations of this methodological framework of implementation in this respect and in the partners languages and in English.

 

The expected impacts were to develop professional skills of adult educators in care homes sector and about elderly people, to understand how methodological ICT implementations work in the partner countries, to provide knowledge about how ICT methodology and elderly care pedagogy can be combined in best formats, how elderly people can benefit from methodological ICT implementations and increase the overall skills of adult educators and educational institutions in this respect. Also, care home managers learned how different methodologies bring various results in care home management sector, including financial, social, cultural and psychological factors.

 

For transferability, we created a professional methodological framework for ICT implementation in digital and paper-based formats, explained each methodological framework components of this output in basic, understandable and applicable ways so that it can be used by various organisations. In both formats, our design was simple, include explanations of each methodological component, contents, examples and so on to help educators to better understand and implement this methodological framework in actual care homes. Also, many care homes in Turkey and partner countries would have a professionally-designed methodological framework for ICT implementation where they can make use of each of its components based on their own needs, socio-cultural specialties etc.

 

 There was no difference between what was planned and what was implemented.
