However, there is no insurance requirement to participate in job shadowing or training programs within the scope of the National Internship Program. ►What does the "Select the city(s) and district(s) where you want to do your internship" section in the Application Form mean? If I make a selection, can I only benefit from internship, job shadowing and/or training opportunities in the cities I choose?
This option is there so that you can share with employers which cities you prefer to benefit from the internship/job shadowing/training opportunity. You can choose at least 3 and at most 5 cities when filling out the Application Form. As you know; transportation and accommodation are the responsibility of each candidate. Therefore, employers generally accept that students make their city choices according to these opportunities and send an offer.
However, sometimes employers in different cities can also review your profile information and send you an offer, so you may receive offers not only from the cities you have selected but also from cities you have not selected. In this case, you can choose to accept or decline the offer.
►When I select the “City where I want to do my internship” in the Application Form, the “District Preference” section opens. Is it mandatory to fill in this section?
After choosing a city, you can choose from among the districts of this province, from a minimum of 1 to a maximum of 10, using the "Select District" button that opens next to the name of the city you have chosen. In order not to experience any problems later, it is recommended that you take transportation and accommodation opportunities into consideration when making your choices.
As you know; transportation and accommodation are the responsibility of each candidate. Therefore, employers usually send offers assuming that students make their district choices according to these possibilities. In other words, you need to make your choices carefully and determine the order of priority correctly. However, sometimes you may receive an offer for a district other than the one you have chosen. In this case, you can choose to accept or reject the offer.

►When will the internship/job shadowing/training programs take place?
The candidate pool will be accessible to employers throughout 2025, from the date it is made available, and employers will continue to send offers until the end of the year, depending on the suitability of their business plans and programs.*
►I received a job shadowing offer but I do not have any information about the job shadowing program. What is job shadowing?
It is an observation-based learning process that allows students to gain knowledge and experience about professions and jobs. During the job shadowing process, which lasts between 3 and 10 days, students spend one-on-one time with experts in the institution in a work environment and observe the work being done. In this way, they gain first-hand knowledge about the profession and job in question and have the opportunity to get to know the institution more closely.
►I received an internship offer, accepted it and the final process was carried out by the employer. Is there a procedure I need to follow after this stage?
Yes. In order to be able to do your internship, first of all, the procedures for the internship dates must be completed by the higher education institution you are a student at, according to the Social Insurance and General Health Insurance Law No. 5510. If your insurance procedures are not completed, the employer will not be able to start your internship. In order not to encounter such a problem; as soon as you are accepted for the internship, you need to submit the relevant document given by the institution where you will do your internship (clearly stating that you have been accepted for the internship within the scope of the "National Internship Program", your identity information, your internship dates and the institution where you will do your internship, stamped and signed) to the relevant unit of the university/college.

In accordance with Article 87, subparagraph (e) of the same law, work accident and occupational disease insurance is paid by the higher education institution where students study during their internship. There is no insurance requirement for participation in job shadowing and training programs.
►Will I be paid after the internship?
Within the scope of the National Internship Program, those who successfully complete their internship programs are paid a salary by the institution where they did their internship, following the end of the internship, in accordance with the provision in Article 25 of the Vocational Education Law No. 3308, “…. no less than thirty percent of the net amount of the minimum wage in workplaces employing twenty or more personnel, and fifteen percent in workplaces employing less than twenty personnel, ….” Employers can determine the wages they pay to interns in accordance with this law. For questions about payments, you can contact the person responsible and/or the person who sent the offer on the “Offers I Received” page.
►Who will pay the fee after the internship?
The internship fee is calculated by the institution/organization where you did your internship after the end of the internship period and is carried out in accordance with the payment processes/dates. Procedures regarding intern fee payments are the responsibility of employers in accordance with the relevant legislation. For this reason, if you have questions regarding fee payments, you should contact the unit where you did your internship.

• If you want to update your contact number; you must click on the green "Update Contact Number" button next to your current mobile phone number and enter your new phone number, which should be 10 digits without any zeros at the beginning (in the 5xx xxx xx xx format). You must enter the verification code that will be sent to your phone in the field on the same screen within 90 seconds.
Note: If you change your e-mail address and contact number, employers will use your updated new contact information to contact you, not the contact information received via e-Government.
►How can I share with employers the dates when I am available to participate in the internship program?
After logging into the National Internship Program from Career Gate, you can share the date ranges you want to do your internship with employers by entering the "My Calendars" section on the left menu. You can create up to 5 internship calendars in this area and determine their priority. You can change your calendars whenever you want.
However, please remember that employers offer internship, job shadowing and/or training opportunities to many students and create their own periods/programs with this in mind. Therefore, employers will get an idea about your availability from the calendars you create and, if possible, will try to send an offer according to these dates, but will not prevent an offer from being sent for a different date.
►When I enter the Career Gate, I receive a notification saying "You have been added to the Talent Pool". What does this mean?
Before sending an offer, employers can add candidates they think fit their criteria to a separate area called the “Talent Pool” for later re-evaluation. Being added to the talent pool does not mean you have been accepted to a program or received an offer, but it does show that your profile has caught the attention of an employer.
►When I enter the Career Gate, I receive a notification saying "You Have Received an Offer". What does this mean?
Seeing a notification on Career Gate that you have “received an offer” or receiving this information via e-mail means that an employer has deemed your profile appropriate and has made you an offer to participate in an internship, job shadowing or training program at their institution/organization.
You can view and evaluate the details and type of offer you received on the "Offers I Received" page.
Employers can send offers in two ways: primary and reserve. Receiving an offer as a “primary” position indicates that you are the employer’s priority. Receiving an offer as a “reserve” position indicates that if a candidate who is sent an offer as a “primary” position rejects the offer for any reason, you will be selected instead.
If you approve the offer that you receive within the specified time, you will proceed to the “final stage”. If you do not respond to the offer within the specified time, the offer will expire. Even if you do not take any action, you will be deemed to have rejected the offer due to the expiration of time. If you receive this notification and do not see any offers on the “Offers I Received” page, you can view your received and pending offers by selecting “My Pending Offers” in the “Offer Type” filter. You should check Career Gate and your e-mail address frequently so that you do not miss any offers.
►I received an offer under the National Internship Program, but I cannot view the offer. What should I do?
After logging in to the Career Gate-National Internship Program, you can view the offers you have received and the offers that are pending when you select "My Pending Offers" under the "Offer Type" heading on the "Offers I Have Received" page.
►Can I request changes to the date and city in the offer I received?
If the offer you receive is not suitable for you in terms of date or city, you can request a change by contacting the person responsible or the person who sent the offer in the "Offers I Received" section on the left menu after logging in to the National Internship Program through Career Gate. However, this does not mean that your change request will be accepted.
Please remember that employers provide this opportunity to many students like you and create relevant periods/programs to make it work most effectively. If your request for a change of date or city is not accepted, you can decline the offer.
►What is the next step after accepting the offer, how does the process proceed?
The vast majority of employers do not conduct a different phase after you accept the offer and start the acceptance process (such as requesting a student certificate or insurance entry document for internship programs). However, sometimes employers may want to observe some of your skills and competencies with an online interview or different applications depending on the position they will position you in. The phase where such special situations are conducted is called the "additional assessment phase" and the "acceptance process" is started after these stages are completed.
You can see the developments in the "Offers I Received" section on the left menu after logging into the National Internship Program on the Career Gate. If the employer wants to conduct an online interview and sends a request for this, you can follow the process in the "My Interviews" section on the left menu.
