MEDICAL DOCUMENTATION AND SECRETARIAT PROGRAM
 
Establishment Date: Medical Documentation and Secretarial Program started to recruit students in 2014-2015 academic year.
 
Description of the program: This program, in which the medical secretaries, who have an important role in the multidisciplinary structure of the health services, are responsible for the information and document services; It trains the healthcare personnel needed in compiling, organizing the findings obtained from scientific researches in various branches of medicine and health technology and putting them into the service of researchers.
 
Purpose of the Program: The purpose of the Medical Documentation and Secretariat program; to train health personnel or technicians who provide written and verbal communication of the health sector unit. For this purpose, we provide a comprehensive training on secretarial services such as patient admission and file procedures, registration procedures for diagnosis, diagnosis and treatment of diseases. We aim to ensure that individuals graduating from this department are equipped to play an important role in medical research. In this context, one of our objectives is to compile the findings obtained from scientific researches in various branches of medicine and health technologies; prepare medical, administrative and statistical documents; can organize and archive documents; It is to train healthcare workers who can organize and develop archives and present them to the researchers in this way.
 
Vision of the Program: To play a leading role in the training of medical secretaries who have gained knowledge, skills and equipment.
 
Mission of the Program: Who can carry out secretarial services in health institutions; able to record the diagnosis, diagnosis and treatment of diseases; prepare medical, administrative and statistical documents; can organize and archive documents; organize and develop archives; prepares patients for examination with patient admission and file procedures; to train health technicians who provide written and verbal communication of the unit they work.
 
Who is the Medical Secretary ?: The person working on compiling, organizing the findings obtained in scientific researches in various branches of medicine and health technology and putting them into the service of researchers.
 
Conditions of Employment of Graduates: Those who have completed the program are given the title of Health Technician (Medical Secretary) in accordance with the Associate Degree diploma and the decision of the Board of Higher Education Council dated 27.07.1992 and numbered 92.26.698.
 
Medical Documentation and Secretarial graduates; He can work as a “Medical Documentation and Secretariat Technician” in universities, public and private hospitals, health centers and private clinics.
 
Those who graduate from the medical documentation and secretarial department of the Vocational School of Health Services start to work as administrative officers in hospitals and similar institutions. Depending on their professional success and experience, they can be promoted to office chief (administrative and technical affairs, library and documentation works etc.).
 
Graduates of the program graduated from Health Services Vocational School Medical Documentation and Secretarial Associate Degree Program and have the opportunity to work in all areas of the health sector. The opportunity to find a job is quite wide due to its increasing importance and effectiveness. In addition to various units of private and public health institutions; Bedside treatment institutions, private health clinics, provincial health directorates, medical research e-publishing companies, medical equipment companies, dispensaries, imaging centers and doctor's offices are also in employment.
 
Although there is still a staff problem, there is a need for staff trained in this field in the field of health. It is hoped that the staff problem will be solved in the future. In addition, the chance of finding a job increases in private hospitals, which are increasing in number.
 
Considering that those who keep medical records, notebooks in the hospitals are doctors and especially nurses, it is obvious that hundreds of thousands of staff will be needed if the medical documentation and secretaries to do this task are trained.
