In order to increase the quality of Local Administrations in service delivery, some reforms are carried out both in our country and in other countries. The changing relations between the local and the center as well as globalization and the ongoing regulations in its legal infrastructure both keep the Local Authorities subject up to date and increase its importance.

 

In the light of all these developments, the Local Administrations departments / programs in universities are very important in terms of meeting the increasingly qualified personnel need of such institutions.

 

Inevitably, the Local Administrations gained such importance has increased the importance of their personnel. The need for qualified personnel who are aware and aware of the change in the world and who grasp the requirements of the local government that emerged with globalization, reveals the necessity of vocational schools providing education in this field.

Job Opportunities and Vertical Transfer

 

The Local Administrations program has an education-training curriculum lasting 2 years (four semesters). At the end of two years, students who have passed all the courses, whose GPA is above 2.00 and who have received and succeeded 120 ECTS credits in total, successfully graduate from the program. If they wish, our students can also take undergraduate education with the DGS exam, by switching to the "Public Administration", "Political Science and Public Administration", "Political Science" and "Local Administrations" departments.

 

Our students who graduate from our program also have a wide range of preferences for directly entering business life. Our graduates, Metropolitan Municipalities, Provincial and District Municipalities, Governorships, District Governorships, Special Provincial Administrations etc. They have extensive job opportunities in various departments of public institutions and organizations. In addition, there are opportunities to work in many units in the private sector.

 

What is the Importance of the Program?

 

Local Government department, can be likened to the Political Science and Public Administration in Turkey. However, unlike them, he tries to understand political, social, economic and administrative events from a local perspective. In this context, it focuses more on local governments and urban issues. On the one hand, the department looks at the functioning of local politics and local democracy, on the other hand, it follows the global developments and the effects in the international field.

 

Students of the Local Authorities department can gain a competence and perspective to better grasp the various issues they may encounter in life. To this end, the Department endeavors to raise individuals with wider vision, more conscious, more productive and more participatory.

 

The department provides its students with the necessary knowledge and skills so that they can have the necessary professionalism in various public institutions and in the private sector, especially local governments.
