Department of Oral, Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology
It is a unit where the tissues and organs in the oral and maxillofacial region are systematically examined, all physiological and pathological changes in these structures are evaluated clinically and radiographically, and the treatments to be applied are planned.
In the Oral, Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology department, in addition to examining the main complaints of the patients, all head-neck region and intraoral examinations are performed. In addition to diseases of the teeth and gums in the mouth, the diagnosis of diseases of the jaw bones and jaw joint, salivary glands, tongue, floor of the mouth, lips and all soft tissues seen in the mouth falls within the scope of the Department. X-rays and advanced imaging tests (CBCT, CT, MRI) required for diagnosis and treatment are evaluated. An individual-specific treatment plan is prepared and patients are directed to the clinics where these treatments will be performed.
Our department, which was established in 2019, provides services with 3 Assistant Professors. It contributes to the 5-year dentistry education with theoretical and practical applications in the 3rd, 4th and 5th years. In addition, specialization training is provided to candidates who pass the Dentistry Specialization Exam (DUS). Postgraduate doctoral programs are planned to be opened in the future.
